Want to be taken? Mercy Martin does. She's been half in love with Hunter Greene since before she can remember. Now, the ex-marine's back in town, and Mercy's determined to make their reunion memorable.

"Take me, I'm yours."

The blonde bombshell standing in Hunter's driveway is everything he's ever wanted in a woman, gorgeous, funny, and ready to go. Unfortunately, she's also his best friend's little sister. Completely off limits.

But, when Mercy gets in trouble it's up to this dominant to take control of the situation and show her exactly what it means to be taken.

I'm pleased that this book didn't end in a massive cliffhanger. Although Mercy and Hunter's relationship is by no means clearly established by the end, at least it doesn't end in the middle of a huge conflict or something.

I quite liked the writing but the story was so short and there's nothing very original to distinguish this book from the thousands of others in this genre. I think it was the characterization which threw me off. Mercy comes off as a bit too desperate, which I didn't like, and her behavior seems a little slutty. Hunter is at first trying to do the right thing, the honorable thing, then seems to forget that all of a sudden and decides to "train" her, saying he needs "to teach her the proper respect a submissive should have for her dominant". What? What happened here? Did I miss something? She isn't his submissive, and if she were, he would be giving her aftercare when the scene ended, not trying to push her away. Heck, he should be giving her aftercare anyway, especially since he knows she's new to all this. The sex is hot, yes, but I just felt like Hunter didn't stay true to character. If he really wanted to do right by Mercy, he wouldn't have tried to teach her a lesson by going all Dom on her without warning, and he definitely wouldn't have told her she belongs with someone else the moment he untied her restraints. He's liable to cause her even more damage this way!

So... I got this book when it was being offered for free, and I'm kind of curious as to how Mercy and Hunter finally do get their HEA but I'm not sure I'm curious enough to spend $4.99 for the boxed set. The story didn't grip me enough for that. Plus the boxed set is only 110 pages so it doesn't quite seem worth it.

Taken by the Hero Taken to the Edge Book 1 edition by Stella Rose Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Hunter Greene returns home from two tour of military duty to find his best friend's little sister on his doorstep saying, "Take me, I'm yours." He resists until a stranger puts his hands on Mercy Martin at the local bar; she becomes Taken by the Hero her childhood crush. More to follow in another book...
This book is hot and intense. I just wished that it was longer than 38 pages. It feels as if it were a teaser book designed to draw you into the story. I enjoyed reading it but it's too short and I'm the type who wants the full book when I set down to read, LOL. Otherwise a nice quick read that's over within a blink yet lingers within your thoughts for days to come.
Stella forgives us scenarios we can only dream of and entrances us with her metaphors. Love the quick read. Thx
I didn't really care for the characters and I didn't feel like there was any real chemistry between Hunter and Mercy. I don't think I'll be reading the rest of the books in the series.
Typical erotic short story. Only complaint-could have done without the few errors even though they didn't distract from the plot still irritating.
Well written, short, hot read! This is a new author for me and I would read more from her. Apparently there are four individually priced short stories with the same hero and heroine that make up a complete ebook, not sure where this one falls as none are numbered. You can also pick up the complete set in one ebook.
Mercy Martin has always been a troublemaker. She has always been willful, loud , disobedient and has had a crush on Hunter Green since she was 12 years old, only back then all of her fantasy's were about kissing her brothers best friend. Mercy is now 20 years old and kissing isn't the only thing that she wants to do to Hunter and she has no problem telling him or showing him how much she wants him.

Hunter Green has just returned from a Tour of Duty and is met in his driveway by his best friend Max Martin's little sister Mercy, only Mercy isn't so little anymore. Mercy is off limits because not only is she his best friends sister but, she is also like family and Hunter doesn't what to cross that line, no matter how sexy a woman she has become.

Mercy being the troublemaker that she is, doesn't take no for an answer even though Hunter warns her to stay away from him.
Mercy doesn't realize what she is getting herself into and to be fair, Hunter did warn her. She just doesn't know the depth of his Sexual Proclivities and his dominating Alpha Male ways but, she is about to find out.

This is a short story, about 30 pages long and it continues in Taken By Him. I liked it and will be reading the second book to find out just how far Mercy is willing to go with Hunter.
